Requirements:
- A high school diploma or a similar qualification is advantageous

- A valid CDL CLASS A is the preferred credential for this position
- Position within the Department of Transportation that follows safety guidelines; regulated technical job
- The position involves safety-sensitive duties; the minimum age criteria and hours of work will be defined by State legislation
Regulated Tech:
- Required to possess a CDL no later than six months post hiring
- Get ready for a drug test at Ryder
- Undergo a DOT medical examination
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Meet requirements for a Ryder background and motor vehicle inspection, including validating drug and alcohol records from previous employers within the last three years

Responsibilities:
- Safely maneuver heavy-duty vehicles within the premises for tasks like washing, detailing, or transporting to rental outlets. Administer vehicle cleaning procedures by hand or utilizing automated mechanisms. Handle the refueling process for diesel, natural gas, and hybrid automobiles with precision while following all safety guidelines of the maintenance facility. Document fuel transactions diligently and monitor inventory levels of fuel and DEF, ensuring accurate records. Employ handheld gadgets for customer identification and service specifications
- Carry out a comprehensive inspection on inbound units as outlined in the company's protocols; responsibilities entail assessing vehicle tire pressure and condition, inspecting fluid levels, monitoring lights, cleaning windows, replacing tires, examining refrigeration units installed on trucks, and communicating any maintenance requirements or driver problems to the appropriate personnel
- Uphold Six Sigma standards and protocols in maintaining the fuel island vicinity; execute facility maintenance duties; undertake minor maintenance responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor
- Attend and complete all Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments. Training will include hands-on and online training as well as performing tasks learned. Technician Training Development Program will include but is not limited to:
- Service Island Training:
- A comprehensive examination of your vehicle, along with the use of a handheld device, is included in the Service Island Multi-point Inspection
- Vehicle fueling and washing are essential tasks that involve filling up the gas tank and washing the exterior of the vehicle
- Environmental Safety & Spill Response pertains to strategies aimed at safeguarding the environment from potential hazards and addressing the aftermath of spills by implementing timely and appropriate responses
- Safe Driving
- The 6S Standards for Service Island Organization & Cleanliness are centered around the principles of sorting, setting in order, shining, standardizing, sustaining, and safety
