Requirements:

• Candidates with a high school diploma or a similar certification are preferred
• The preference is for individuals with up to one year of mechanical practice, specifically with diesel engines
• To be eligible, individuals must be 18 years of age or older
• Adeptness in using English for written and verbal communication proficiency

Regulated Tech:

• Within six months of being hired, individuals must obtain a CDL
• Equip yourself for a drug screening with Ryder
• Successfully clear a Department of Transportation medical check-up
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Clear a Ryder background and motor vehicle check by validating drug and alcohol records with previous employers covering a three-year period

Responsibilities:

• Move heavyweight vehicles between specific locations such as the yard, wash bay, service area, or rental depot in a professional manner. Conduct vehicle cleaning and detailing by hand or utilizing automated tools as required. Ensure the proper fueling of diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles in line with safety regulations within the workshop. Keep detailed records of fuel operations, monitor fuel and DEF inventories, and carry out necessary reconciliations. Utilize handheld devices for precise customer identification and service validation
• Execute a complete evaluation on incoming units in adherence to company policies and procedures; responsibilities include checking tire pressure and condition, monitoring fluid levels, inspecting lights, cleaning windows, changing tires when required, assessing refrigeration systems on trucks, and communicating any service or driver issues to the maintenance team
• Ensure the fuel island area meets Six Sigma standards and guidelines; handle facility maintenance activities; perform minor maintenance assignments as directed by the supervisor
• Attend and complete all Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments. Training will include hands-on and online training as well as performing tasks learned. Technician Training Development Program will include but is not limited to:
• Service Island Training:
• Through the Service Island Multi-point Inspection, your vehicle undergoes a meticulous inspection that includes the use of a handheld tool
• Fueling and washing a vehicle includes the tasks of fueling up the tank and washing the exterior surfaces
• The focus of the discussion revolves around Environmental Safety & Spill Response, stressing the importance of maintaining environmental safety through preventative actions and prompt responses to spill incidents
• Safe Driving
• Shining is a crucial part of the Service Island Organization & Cleanliness (6S Standards) as it involves keeping the workspace clean and maintaining equipment regularly
• Technician I Training:
• Preventive Maintenance

• Technician II Training:
• HD Electrical
• The braking mechanisms of air and hydraulic systems are integral to the functioning of vehicles
• Handles additional responsibilities as mandated
